Insurance & Fees

When you learn the costs and fees associated with plastic surgery, one question typically comes to mind: How will I pay for my procedure?

Reconstructive Surgery

Reconstructive surgery is often covered in full or in part by insurance. Our knowledgeable staff will assist you with any questions associated with a procedure covered by your insurance company. We will also assist you with the pre-certification process, if required by your insurance company. As a courtesy to you, we will file a claim with your insurance company for you.

In addition to Medicare and Medicaid, we participate in many group insurance plans. Our staff can help you determine your insurance eligibility.

Cosmetic Surgery

You – the patient – are responsible for all charges related to cosmetic surgery.

To provide you with the highest quality of care at the most reasonable cost, approximately 90% of all the elective procedures we perform at New Dimensions are performed on an outpatient basis.

While every case is different, the total costs associated with cosmetic surgery are based on:

  • Your surgeon's fee
  • Facility fee
  • Anesthesia fee
  • Medications and other supplies
  • Laboratory tests
  • Surgical implants, if used
  • Nursing or after care, if needed
  • Overnight stay, if needed

The consultation fee for an office visit related to cosmetic surgery is $50 and must be paid at the time of service. That fee will be deducted from the cost of any procedures you choose to have performed. Full payment for all cosmetic procedures is due 14 days before they are scheduled to take place.

For your convenience, there are numerous options for paying for your surgery or procedure. You can pay with cash, personal check, credit card or from a loan.

Cash (or personal check) – Some patients choose to pay for their services from savings they have expressly put aside for this purpose.

Credit Cards – For your convenience, we accept Visa, Discover, MasterCard and American Express.

Personal finance loans – Loans are another way to pay for your surgery. While we do not offer financing to our patients, we can refer you to financial institutions that offer loans for cosmetic surgery. They can help you work out a plan to pay for your surgery that fits with your overall financial plan.

Insurance – Sometimes insurance will cover part of the cost of a procedure if it is found to be medically necessary. Our office staff will clearly explain all charges and will be happy to work with you and your insurance company.

Discounts – If you wish to have multiple procedures and are a candidate for them (as determined by your surgeon), you may be able to save money by having them all performed on the same day.

How to Schedule an Appointment

Thank you for your interest in our practice.
We typically meet with patients on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please call us at 618-235-8500.

Preparing for a Visit

On your initial visit to our office, you will meet with your surgeon, who will discuss your medical history, your options, anesthesia, incision placements and more. This is a good time to address your questions, concerns, fears and expectations for your procedure.

To aid this discussion, please bring with you that day:

  • Questions you may have for the surgeon
  • Your list of medications, including prescription medication, herbs and supplements
  • If applicable, bring photos that illustrate for the surgeon the results you desire and DON'T desire

It is also reasonable for you to ask to see photographic documentation of your surgeon’s previous work. While no guarantee of your own outcome, it can help you determine your surgeon's idea of what is aesthetically pleasing and discuss your surgical expectations.

No surgery will be performed on your first visit. This consultation is important as it allows our surgeons to get to know you well enough to understand and evaluate your needs. Due to the amount of information that we cover, bringing children usually distracts you from the full benefit of the consultation.

You may or may not schedule a surgery date at the end of this consultation. You are by no means obligated, but this is generally the next step. If you should choose to schedule a surgery, you will be asked to make a deposit to hold your date. You will also schedule any necessary additional appointments needed for additional consultation, lab work or other needs.

Download Forms

To facilitate your initial visit, we have prepared a detailed Patient History form that must be completed. It might be more accurate and convenient if you print it and fill it out at home.
